Taking our popular LPH Series non-adjustable flow switch as an example, when air/water flows through the unit it causes the magnetic piston to move up at the calibration point. This displacement is caused by the pressure differential from the air/water flowing through the unit. The magnetic piston actuates a hermetically sealed reed switch, which is encapsulated in the body of the unit, out of the media wetted flow path. Decreasing the flow below the calibration point causes the reed switch to de-actuate.

Applications:
Our product offering includes a wide range of flow monitors and flow switch configurations for use in liquids or gases that feature high quality, corrosion-resistant materials for use in tough environments with material choices, ranging from Stainless Steel to Ryton for vast chemical compatibility options. Product types include piston type flow switches, shuttle type flow switches and paddle type flow switch models and electronic switches. Versions include switches with fixed or adjustable actuation settings, models for viscosity compensation or high pressures, in-line models and designs to satisfy any mounting or space requirement. Our flow switches will initiate alarm actuation or automatic shut-down of a system.

Since 1968, our partner ChemTec has been engineering and manufacturing their patented line of flow switches, flow monitors, and .ChemTec specialise in low flow applications (120 SCFM; 20 GPM or less) and currently are the only manufacturer of all-Teflon® flow switches and flow meters. ChemTec low flow products are engineered and manufactured from raw materials in their factory to ensure superior product life-cycles. Beneficial to a multitude of industries, ChemTec flow switches, flow monitors and excess flow valves are assisting in medical, biomedical, laser technology, wafer fabrication, clean rooms, cellular towers, petroleum, natural gas, semiconductor, hydrogen, cryogenics and many more. ChemTec will gladly build custom units for these endless possibilities. We can offer universal, custom and non-stock units in any volume based on fit, form, and function. Our custom flow switches often push the industry forward with new and revolutionary designs.
